Respect for All'If it is to be, it is up to me’

Respect for All Policy

I feel that each person, whether they are male, female, black, white, Christian or non-Christian, brings a unique perspective, a richness and experience, that adds to the fabric of this great country.

As such, I believe everyone can achieve their goals in any field they set their mind to. It’s what makes us excel in sports, entertainment and business. It also drives us to become those heroes of our communities, the volunteers, the firefighters, police, nurses, doctors and military forces who provide our fundamental life and protection services.

We all have a role to play to ensure our community grows. As your representative for Chifley, I ask for your support to help me in the role I feel I must play as your active candidate supporting your voice for change.

I have approached all my fellow candidates for Chifley and have asked for a respectful election campaign – one based on fair play and policies, not a mud slinging circus. I do not believe dirty politics or personal attacks has any place in politics of today and would actively seek to change the way we do politics in the 21st Century.

I believe that politicians should be as dedicated as professional athletes and not impede their opponents. Can you imagine if the legendary Cathy Freeman tried to trip up another athlete while competing, or Ian Thorpe interfere with a competitor’s swimming lane?

Politicians should behave with the same professional integrity and conduct themselves with focus on their own issues and policies, not tearing shreds off their opponents.

I call upon all candidates to demonstrate quality leadership and integrity, and look to win this election based on their own policies, personal and professional strengths, not through derogatory attacks on other candidates and parties - which I believe the voters sick and tired of.

Ammar Khan,
Candidate for Chifley
