Healthcare'If it is to be, it is up to me’

Healthcare Policy

Family healthcare needs to be accessible and affordable but in order to achieve that, we need to have a robust proactive development plan for our health care industry where they can feel confident that they are able to provide the latest technology in providing care and preventative health programs.
The residents need the confidence in our healthcare system and that they are able to access affordable care when needed. Therefore I support the continuation of Medicare, in its current form, for the peace of mind of our community.

I believe that a dramatic overhaul of the health industry to squeeze health service gains through innovation and technology without needing one extra cent of revenue to deliver. This is achievable and I would be proud to be part of that overhaul to have us gain access to that innovation which would greatly benefit our community.

I believe that we need to develop Mt Druitt Hospital into a major regional hospital, possibly with private sector investment where it can serve as a beacon of healthcare excellence to our community.

I will support the development of GP Super Clinics in Plumpton and Riverstone areas as these are two areas which have traditionally lacked the health care access afforded to our other suburbs.

The care of our community is important and should not be devalued or overlooked. It is my belief that in order to have a vibrant growing economy, we need to ensure our workforce and their families have access to consistent care with the latest technology care. Helping unemployed Australians to improve their skills and productivity will help to sustain the economy and ensure a better future for the people of our country. Retraining to help fill the labour shortage gaps in this country would make common sense and an effective strategy for our sustainable and growing future.
